Traveling is not just seeing the new; it is also leaving behind. Not just opening doors; also closing them behind you, never to return. But the place you have left forever is always there for you to see whenever you shut your eyes. — Jan Myrdal
Hello! Obviously judging by my quote, you know I have a question for you, and you know that it’s about traveling! That’s right .. day two of my blog questions.
Today’s question is: What is the best vacation you’ve ever gone on, or what is your dream vacation?
I’m going to answer both, you can, too!
1. The best vacation I’ve ever been on was in the summer of 2009. I haven’t really traveled much, but this was a family vacation that I enjoyed a lot. First, we went to the Carlsbad Caverns in NM. It was me, my two brothers, my youngest sister, my step mom, and my dad. We had a lot of fun there, as it was our first stop so you know we were getting excited! While we were there, we not only stopped by the caverns but went out to eat, went swimming at our hotel, did some sight seeing around the area, went shopping .. it was there we decided what our souvenirs were going to be. Mine were mugs, I love them!
After that, we packed up and headed for Huntington Beach! We knew some people out there. It was fun .. but the beach is freaking cold! I loved jumping in the waves, though, even if it was cold. I lost one of my favorite flip flops there. Yes, I remember that!
When we left Huntington Beach, we headed for Yosemite! This was by far my favorite part of the trip. As much as I had fun in the water, hiking in Yosemite and seeing all the beautiful sights takes the cake and pies, too! We did several different trails, the short ones to the long ones. Saw all the HUGE trees which was awesome, got to see a little wildlife. And we also got to keep some of the humongous pine cones! It was a lot of walking, but I loved every bit of it. Seriously felt so in peace there. The cabin we stayed at had karaoke too, so of course we all had fun with that! I also taught my sister how to play card games while we were there, so that was a fun bonding experience! I really loved being there and totally did not want to leave!
But when we left, thats when we went for the Hoover Dam on a Dam hot day! lol, then next stop .. VEGAS! First time I was legal in Vegas (Or maybe we did Vegas then Hoover Dam first? Can’t remember which comes first LOL). I stayed in the same place there that I did last time I went, too lol .. Circus Circus! We rode all the rides, and I won money on the slots. Woohoo! I actually won just enough to pay my rent .. nice, lol.
Next stop .. Grand Canyon. Oh, boy. I was brave. I went out on the rocks. Big deal for somebody who is scared of heights like I am. And I never wanna do that again, no matter how pretty and amazing it all looks! Haha. Okay, I could probably be swayed. After this, we stopped by a small town called Williams, which was amazing. It was so cool to see such a tight community. They did reenactments and everything. Kinda reminded me of The Gilmore Girls hahaha. Loved it there .. hated the hotel beds though, yikes! Had some really good dinner there, too!
Then Roswell, which to me, was the worst part of the trip. It was kinda boring for me, but I also ate bad Ihop, hahaha.
2. My dream trip would be to Australia and New Zealand! I’ve dreamed of this for the longest time. There’s not much I can explain there, but I’d love to go walking through the rain forest, see the beautiful beaches, sight see, go to zoooooos! I do love animals.
I’m going to stop here because this blog is pretty long, but I hope you enjoyed anyway! Thanks for reading!
