I’m sooo super excited to start school again. I completed my Associates in Healthcare Administration in July and went straight on to my Bachelor’s program. I got three classes in and realized it wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I’m a hands on person and one who doesn’t enjoy just sitting at a desk doing paperwork. Why on earth would I go to school for administration then you ask? Beats me! I guess I knew the money would be good and at the time when I decided to go for adminstration I was stuck in yet another dead end, low paying, humiliating job. I wasn’t thinking about my happiness or putting too much thought into what I might be good at, just thought it would be a good solution to my money problems. I quit my Bachelor’s program and took a few months to think about what I would want to do.
It came to me magically when I was at one of my laser hair removal appointments. I thought that job would be great. I always enjoyed the atmosphere when I went, they do in fact make good money, and it’s in high demand. I then began researching on how to get into the profession. I have a friend who works as a laser technician, so I spoke to her. In my state, you have to be either a nurse, medical assistant, or esthitician to be trainable. Needless to say I picked the easier and more fun choice of the three, Esthitician! This way I can do many things. I can do the laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, facials, microderms, and waxing.
I start school at the end of this month and I couldn’t be more excited. For me to look forward to school is a BIG deal for me! I can’t wait to graduate and finally have a job that I love. Yes, I love this one too, but I won’t be able to do this when I’m in my 40’s and 50’s 🙂
