I feel like it was just 2010.
But, I’m glad. Good riddance to you, 2010.
Last year held a lot of big changes for me. And I’m not too big of a fan of changes. Most of them, anyway. I was origionally going to list the changes in two categories: good and bad. But life’s never really that simple, is it. So here’s just a big mush of things that happened to yours truly in 2010. They’re in semi cronological order.
I realized what I wanted to do with my life (be a nurse).
A close family member got cancer.
I started camming!
I failed my first major class and had a gigantic life crisis about it.
I started camming!! (Hooray!!!)
I graduated college.
A major and long term romantic relationship ended.
I lost 20 pounds.
I actually got great grades, better than I had the previous years of college.
I actually finished college (different than graduating).
I got my wisdom teeth out.
While writing this list, which yes, is just a dumb pile of “things”. I realized something. I don’t say good riddance to 2010. I say thank you. Each thing that happened to me, even if it hurt at the time (you ever had your heart broken? its fun, isnt it. makes you feel GREAT.) helped me in the long run to become a better person. I’m a firm believer in “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” because let me tell you, its true. And, as you may have guessed (because I’m clearly not dead) I am a stronger and more well rounded person than I was 365 days ago.
Here’s to 2011, another 365 days of growth and strength for us all. 🙂
