I think I found what I want to do for school finally! I wasn’t sure if it actually exists, but I found some online schools that offer degrees and certificates. Which is fine, I don’t mind going to online school as long as my school financial aid takes care of it. I wouldn’t be able to do it on my own that’s for sure, and I don’t want to get my hopes up just in case they can’t.

Anyway, I was looking for something in natural medicine/natural health nutrition and finally found something!

Natural Health (Bachelor, they also have a Masters):

  • Develop a fundamental understanding of the main areas of natural health: traditional naturopathy, holistic nutrition, herbology, homeopathy, holistic health, universal energy, psychospiritual health, and how the immune system works.
  • Nurture the student’s knowledge concerning issues of natural health, especially regarding the application of advisable approaches to wellness with a focus on continued learning as new information becomes available.
  • Prepare the student to teach others about natural health and healthy living.
  • Allow the student to explore a wide array of natural health curricula to emphasize areas of interest.
  • Enable the student to develop practical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills applicable to real-world problems.
  • Provide the student with a well-rounded education through the study of written composition, communication and critical thinking, humanities and fine arts, natural sciences and math, and history, social and behavioral sciences.

Holistic Nutrition (Bachelor, they also have a Masters and Doctor):

  • Provide the student with a well-rounded education through the study of written composition, communication and critical thinking, humanities and fine arts, natural sciences and math, and history, social and behavioral sciences.
  • Develop a fundamental understanding of the main areas of holistic nutrition: human physiology; digestion; biochemical individuality; food, vitamins, drugs, and herbal interactions; clinical nutrition; community nutrition; and integrated weight management approaches.
  • Enable the student to develop practical critical thinking and interpersonal skills applicable to real-world problems.
  • Nurture the student’s knowledge concerning issues of holistic nutrition, especially with regard to employing accurate approaches to holistic nutrition and focusing on continued learning as the field unfolds.
  • Prepare the student to teach others about holistic nutrition and healthy living.
  • Allow the student to explore a wide array of holistic nutrition curricula to emphasize areas of interest.

I’m trying really hard not to be too psyched! It’s pretty fun to know that something like this actually exists. If you know me at all, then you should know that my personal library includes many health books about herbs, adrenal fatigue supplements, natural remedies, etc. I really love learning about the benefits, I’d love to learn how to help with certain diseases, and myself (hah!), and help others not to be trapped in their own bodies like I feel like a lot of the time. This is very interesting to me!

The icing on the cake for me is that they have a certificate for Companion Animal Studies, which:

  • Introduce the basics of care and feeding of companion animals.
  • Provide foundational information about natural health and a wide range of holistic modalities appropriate for animal care.
  • Provide the student with introductory knowledge of holistic animal care; bodywork for companion animals; herbs for companion animals; aromatherapy and flower essences for companion animals; traditional Chinese medicine for companion animals; and natural nutrition for companion animals.

I’m EXTREMELY intrigued. Seriously, if you know me at all then you know this is right up my alleyway of the things I enjoy. I originally wanted to be a vet, but moved away from the vet school. I regret it sometimes, but it’s what I had to do. After that, I couldn’t decide what I wanted to go back to school for. I thought advertising/graphic design .. I keep going back to that, but i’m not sure if it’s what I really want. I am very, very interested in this. It might seem boring to you, but I hope it isn’t, because this is ME. Exactly what I like and what I was looking for. Cross your fingers that I can get financial aid for it!
