So, my MagSafe power adapter for my Macbook Pro burnt a hole in itself a few weeks ago. It was the second one I’ve gone through since I got my laptop 2 1/2 years ago. Well, I found all these articles online saying that Apple now replaces those adapter regardless if your computer is still in warranty or not (because they’re dangerous), and they link to a page on the Apple website that explains it. I scheduled an appointment with an Apple store like 30 minutes away from me because it’s hard to get an appointment at the one downtown. I would have had to wait another 2 days. So, I go to the one in the ‘burbs, and they try to tell me that the article was just saying that the inspection is free, but in order to replace it it needs to be under warranty. He tried to make me look like an idiot. Whatever d00d. So I read all over the ‘net & lots of people say they’ve gotten theirs replaced. So I decide to just schedule an appointment (for tonight) & see what the “Geniuses” downtown have to say. I plopped it on the counter & he’s like “Wow, let me get this replaced for you”! Immediately! I didn’t even have to say a word.

Moral of the story: I will always go to the downtown location, because they know what’s up. The other Apple stores really need to have some staff meetings to inform their employees of their policies. Really. Could have saved me a whole load of shit if they did so. I wish I would have gone downtown to begin with because now I’ve been trying to survive without my power adapter (or rigging it to work for a little bit here & there) for weeks. It’s been depressing. But yay! I’m glad I finally got it replaced 🙂

/Rant. Haha
